Students will set up a database-driven site, create record sets, and display fields and images, create a master list of items that links to a detail page, and display the results of a search form, create pages to insert, update, and delete records.

This course covers features that are in QuickBooks Pro Edition 2005. First-time QuickBooks users will learn the basic features of the software. Students will set up a company, work with lists, set up inventory, invoice for payments, process payments, work with bank accounts, and online banking.

Video Game Design: Children's Technology Workshop

(Ages 8-13)

Design your own video game and challenge your friends! This program teaches students the fundamentals of object-oriented programming and video game design. Working with step-by-step instructions, students learn the programming environment while creating a fully working 2D game. Once the basics are learned in the workshop, students can create their own 2D and 3D games at home using Gamemaker software available for purchase. Games can be played at home (MS Windows only).

Make-a-Movie Animation Whizards: Children's Technology Workshop

(Ages 7-13)

Get ready for the big screen! This class guides students through the creation of a short stop-motion film, such as claymation or paper animation. Students work in small teams as they explore various animation technique, and learn scripting, storyboarding, techniques of set and character creation, and the post-production process such as titles, transitions, and sounds. Laptops and cameras are provided, as is a variety of building materials. Movies are available to take home.

Digital Photography Program

This course explains the basic concepts of digital photography. Students will use digital cameras and imaging software to store, manipulate and print photos. Students will also learn design elements and principles, good photographic composition adn other valuable tips. Bring your camera, manual (and laptop if you have it) to the first class. No previous experience is required. One-day class. Class size limited to 10 persons.
