ABOUT CRPIC

 

 

CRPIC Overview

The Charles River Public Internet Center (CRPIC) is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Waltham, Massachusetts. We are both a community technology center and a computer lab facility serving over 20 communities and more than two thousand people annually.

Our mission is to advance technology and internet literacy for adults and youth by empowering people with the technical skills necessary for economic success. We provide free access to computers and the training needed to use them effectively on the job and in daily life. Our primary service area is Metrowest, however, we work with many organizations throughout Greater Boston and the New England region.

CRPIC has four computer labs available to rent by corporations, non-profits, or other organizations. Lab sizes range from a few to 20 workstations and are fully networked with state-of-the-art equipment. Each lab is equipped with an instructor station including an LCD projector and screen, printers, white boards, and high speed T1 Internet access. A variety of hardware and software configurations are possible in each lab. Rates are available upon request.

 

 

Mission Statement

The Charles River Public Internet Center's mission is to advance technology and Internet literacy for adults and youth by empowering people with the technical skills necessary for economic success.

 

Vision Statement

It is not enough to provide access to technology but education, job training and support must also be provided. Technical training provides people with the skills to obtain better jobs which ultimately improve the quality of life for underserved members of our communities. Our primary service area is Metrowest, however, CRPIC continues to work with organizations throughout the New England Region.

We succeed at our mission by providing the following services:

  • Affordable workforce development for businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals in career transition
  • After school programs and summer programs for youth
  • Low-cost technology training and certification programs
  • Contribute technical expertise to support local infrastructure
  • Free public access to technology and the Internet Technology facility and training room rentals
CRPIC serves more than 2,000 community members per year to help them gain a foothold in the New Economy. We continue to empower one person at a time.
