The Charles River Public Internet Center is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit
organization in Waltham, Massachusetts. We are both a community technology
center serving over 20 communities and more than 2,000 people annually and a
computer training facility for corporate and nonprofit clients.
Our mission is to advance technology and internet literacy for adults and youth
by empowering people with the technical skills necessary for economic success.
We provide the general public with a welcoming space equipped with 20 computers
connected to the Internet that can be used free of charge. Our staff offers
informal assistance on an as-needed basis to the public. We also provide free,
one-on-one tutoring sessions with a scheduled appointment. We are licensed by
the Massachusetts Department of Education to provide a variety of affordable
computer classes on many software packages and applications, including Microsoft
Office and Adobe. (Link to catalog) Our primary service area is Metrowest,
however, we work with many organizations throughout Greater Boston and the New
CRPIC has four computer labs available to rent by corporations, nonprofits, or
other organizations. Lab sizes range from a few to 20+ workstations and are
fully networked with state-of-the-art equipment. Each lab is equipped with an
instructor station, LCD projector and screen, printers, white boards, and
high-speed T1 Internet access. A variety of hardware and software configurations
are possible in each lab. We host local, national, and international clients.
